6. The art of home-making is part of essential survival kit
During our home-bound season, home-making is our day-to-day routine. Being a full time stay-at-home mom, I always find myself occupy with home-making related duties such as sewing up a loosen button, cooking meals, baking for tomorrow's breakfast, cleaning up and tidying up, decluttering and organizing or even making over a corner in the house. All these works may seem insignificant in normal days, especially for men who may not pay attention to the details of home-making. It is during MCO season that perhaps most men recognize the significance of a home-maker's role.

Home-making includes getting the groceries supply from the store. When our government made the policy of allowing only the household leader (Ketua Rumah) to go out for groceries shopping during MCO, some men fumbled over this duty. I consider myself blessed that my man excels in this duty during the MCO, he manages to tick off most of the items on my groceries list completely and perfectly, without getting the wrong type of vegetables or flour, of course! I am thankful too that he humbly and willingly shares some of the house chores.
Having the basic home-making skills for both husband and wife, is definitely essential for a family to survive through the MCO. Basic home-making skills are to be taught to children since young. This is part of education so that children will be able to survive on their daily living as grown-ups, from preparing meals to doing laundry, up-keeping cleanliness and such. After all, everyone stays at home and shares the responsibilities to make the home a pleasant place to stay.
